 Title
o Compose an interesting phrase
o Avoid using a too-general title, such as “Generation Z”
 Introduction paragraph (no longer than 10 lines)
o Begin with an attention-getting “hook” (not a question).
o Introduce your topic (an issue specifically related to Millennials generation) and indicate that your essay will analyze articles about it.
• 3-4 Body paragraphs
o Each paragraph should analyze a different article.
Articles must be from the New York Times “Newspapers” database. The articles may come from newspapers or credible websites or blogs.
o In the first sentence of each paragraph, introduce the article’s title, author(s), and main idea.
o The rest of each paragraph should mention between 1-3 general ideas from the article and share your ideas about them (specifics on next page).
o At least half of each paragraph should consist of your ideas. See below for suggestions.
For each idea from the articles you discuss…
 why you agree, partially agree, or disagree
 how well you think the article makes the point
 anything else you find interesting about the idea or how it’s worded
• Develop each of your opinions about each idea. Don’t just state one general thing, such as “I agree with this because I’m tech-savvy and enjoy gaming.”
o Conclusion paragraph
o Provide closure for your essay.
o Avoid bringing up new supporting ideas or just repeating your main ideas.
Format your paragraphs and document source material (research) using MLA style:
• Use Times New Roman 12-point font for MLA style and follow MLA format in all other ways (headers, headings, double-spaced, etc.)
